TORONTO – Despite the “glass bottles and jars only” disclaimer on the container, a woman in the U.K. had to be rescued by firefighters after getting her head stuck in a recycling bin.
A local emergency crew in Southampton said they were called to the scene at 3 a.m. Friday and arrived to find the student surrounded by friends who supposedly tried, but failed, to pull her head out of a bottle bank.
The unnamed student was reportedly advised to do it “for a bet after drinking with friends.”
“She said it was dark and smelly,” said Chris Rashleigh, a firefighter on the scene, in an interview with Daily Echo.
Fire crew members said they was forced to cut the plastic bin with a saw in order to free the trapped victim.
The woman was unhurt but said she was “embarrassed.”
This is not the first time a student has become trapped in an awkward place that required the help of emergency workers.
